I decided to take a break from my weekly "rants and raves" to establish something I believe belongs in our league (and had quite fun creating; we’ll add more terminology over the years). #weeknine



The Elite League Dictionary
Swinging [swing-ing]

Origin: September, 2007. (ff) English.

(n) The act, manner or progression of a GM to become so fixated upon a sports individual that they rush to fling oneself to this figure’s "sports jock" (in the most appropriate explanation).

Example- Justin: "Adrian Peterson is best to ever play this game!!!" Maucus: "Dude, quit swinging…"
Brah [or bruh]

Origin: Slang. Sometime, 2012. (ff) English. Antonym- "Bro is a term of friendship"

(n) 1. A phrase used at the end of a roast line. 2. The "reduced" form of brother; the two are boys but one is getting on the other’s nerves therefore you’re no longer a bro, you’re a "brah"

Example- Reece: "McFadden has been a bust, brah!" Francois: "I’m still not giving him to you for Shonn Greene, brah!"

(n) 1. The plausible excuse for anytime a team is doing poorly. 2. The first thing owners do when they’re upset about anything….blame the commish.

Idiom: Despite the fact the commish spends earnest time writing weekly posts, polls, commish reports; somehow it makes sense that if he was that detailed oriented, he’d forget to set the lineup of his fake team…

Example-Hery: "Wooow! I jus wrot another senetence that didn’t make sense or spel chck my work! " Jonathan: "It’s probably because of Reece’s other team!"
Sideline Borderhoppers [the Jekel/Hyde for the Educators]

Origin: Team Name. August, 2007. (ff) English.

(n) 1. The name of Dan Martinez’s team his rookie season. 2. No comprende ingles y futbol Americano.

Example- Dan: "I freaking hate fantasy football! I keep losing even though I have the best team!" Steven: "That’s because you’re playing like the Sideline Borderhoppers… "
