JB's Post-Draft Grades

"T.J. Watt will have more sacks than J.J. Watt," I boldly declared as Dan's "Educators" selected the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 116th overall pick in The Elite League's 2017 Draft. Two days later, NFL Network analyst and previous NFL coach, Steve Mariucci made the same bold declaration.

Remember when I stated that this year is about to be insane? Do you also remember those pre-draft rankings I posted this past weekend? Well, about a couple of months ago, I created my first fantasy football algorithm, inspired by Rotoviz Radio. Since I run a lot of numbers and deal with logistics on a daily basis, I have some pretty nice toys & tools to play with. Well, why not use them for fantasy football?

Thus my first algorithm, period (let alone fantasy football), was born! I could go into many boring details but long story short; I created a system where my rankings, combined with each GM's selected position would grade this year's draft. And the best part? It worked to perfection. I plan to use this same algorithm for statistics predictions throughout the season. Again, I repeat, this year is insane.

Below you will find the basic draft grades for each team. The algorithm simply takes your position in comparison to whom the best players you could have drafted and grades you on the position and the players you actually drafted in relation to my personal rankings for all players at every position.

Your draft grade depends on whether you reached, drafted by value, need, etc. For example, if you drafted a kicker in the seventh round (Hery), it will go against you in your overall grade. Also, if you took a defense before round ten, you will also be docked. Other than those tweaks, it is all artificial intelligence. Enjoy!
